Organizational Change Initiatives Not Meeting Expectations

Organizational Change Initiatives Not Meeting Expectations

We need to make these changes, why can’t we get them done?

Typical change initiatives may involve changing accounting systems, project management procedures, CRM systems, performance review process, compensation system, bonus/commission plans or involve reorganizations/merger.

Solution Path

I have found the following three approaches to be very effective resolving these issues.

  1. Evaluating the current situation against the Change Equation (see the article on the Reference Page of this website titled "Why Organizational Change Initiatives Struggle - Part 1" for information on the Change Equation.
  2. Evaluating the current situation to determine potential Barriers to Action (see the article on the Reference Page of this website titled "Why Organizational Change Initiatives Struggle - Part 1" for information on the Barriers to Action)
  3. Evaluating the current situation against Transformation Management success criteria.  (see the article on the Reference Page of this website titled "Why Organizational Change Initiatives Struggle - Part 2" for information on Transition Management).

Once the primary reasons causing the issue are determined, the three items shown above typically provide the information needed to formulate the corrective actions needed to get things moving.
